Film Elements Graphic Organizer:

Film Elements:
Camera shots, angles, movement, and composition
Extreme Wide shot: There is an extreme wide angle shot during the opening of the scene where Captain America is pictured from behind in his chair operating the craft while also emphasizing he is in the sky with the window panels in front of him.
Head On Shot: The opening head on shot is when the perspective/camera appears to be in the middle of the sky as the aircraft Captain America is in comes zooming right into you.
Low angle shot: There is a low angle shot where the camera/perspective seems to be almost in Captain Americas lap where the camera is facing up at his face intensifying his facial reactions as he is in the what appears to be crisis as he is operating the craft.
Sound
Voice over: The intro to the scene with the Marvel logo was accompanied with Captain America talking to Agent Carter.
Simultaneity: As Captain America is talking to Agent Carter, with her being the only present one n the shot, Agent Carter is flying while being on the phone with her.
Direct Sound: There is direct sound coming from the noise of the craft Captain America is operating. This whirring contributes to the realism of the events taking place.
Mise-en-scheme
Wardrobe: Captain America is pictured in a superhero suit (Captain America) which emphasizes his significance and tells part of the story if the audience if familiar with Captain America already.
Low Key lighting: As Carter picks up the phone and the men in the office are gone and turned off the light, the dim light solely in the scene illuminates Carter only and this emphasizes that something important will happen, that she will take part in the zodiac case.
Deep Space: There is deep space shot when Carter is walking toward the city. This emphasizes the city and her because she is close to the camera and the city is distanced.
Editing
Symbolism: Captain America places a picture of Agent Carter who he was on the phone with as he is flying his craft through the sky which places significance on her and also tells the audience that they are close.
Contrast: As the screen fades to black and a “one year later” comment appears it is clear that when Agent Carter is left crying the director wanted the audience to believe something had happened to him. The one year difference contrasts the time periods.
Leit Motif: Every time the buzzer goes off there is a phone call reporting a new event relating to the zodiac case. The second buzz Carter picks up herself and takes initiative.
